Eileen Brigid
Quinn Koharski, 50, of Ocean Township, died Monday, Dec. 1, 2008 at
Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank, after a long and courageous battle
with cancer. Her heroic struggle was an inspiration to all who knew her.
Eileen was born in Neptune and graduated from Asbury Park High School in
1976.
She lived in Interlaken before moving to Wanamassa, Ocean Township in
1992. She was employed by the law firm of Schibell and Mennie for over 20
years before becoming disabled due to her illness. She was a volunteer
with the Coastal Habitat For Humanity for many years. Eileen was a
talented gardener and avid reader and she also pursued studies in Irish
language and music.
Eileen was predeceased by her mother, Mary Frances Ryan Quinn; her father,
Aloysius Kevin Quinn; and her sister, Sheila Frances LeMeune. Eileen is
survived by her husband, James A. Koharski; her daughter, Delia Wells
Menditto and her husband Charles of Manchester; and her step-sons, Thomas
Koharski of Lakewood, and Keith Koharski of Brick. Eileen is also survived
by her identical twin sister, Frances Quinn Dowling and her partner Rocco
Precopio of Shark River Hills; her sister, Mary Kambic and her husband
Robert of Baltimore, Md.; her sister, Kathleen Vaccari of Maplewood; her
brother, Kevin E. Quinn and his wife Elaine of Ocean Township; and her
brother, Declan Quinn of West Allenhurst. Eileen is survived by her
mother-in-law, Marjorie Koharski of Neptune, with whom she enjoyed an
especially loving relationship. Eileen is also survived by her nieces,
Kathleen Denberg, Rachael LeMeune, Meghan Brewer, Elizabeth, Annie and
Mary Clare Vaccari, Chelsey Sutton, Kristen Quinn, Molly Kambic, Deirdre
Barvenik and Amy Baisley; and her nephews, Kieran and Brendan LeMeune,
Sean Quinn and Robert Kambic. Eileen is also survived by a host of aunts,
uncles and cousins, both here in the United States and in England, as well
as many friends who loved her dearly.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the
Buckley Funeral Home, 509 Second Ave., Asbury Park. A Mass of Christian
Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday in Holy Spirit Church, Asbury
Park. Interment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Neptune.
